Can I be admitted for this?
Hello,
My therapist has wanted to commit me for self-harm for a while. Due to pressure from my parents, I stopped doing it regularly. Now I've found another way to deal with my feelings. I've started smoking and sometimes drinking. I haven't told my therapist what I do to compensate for the self-harm, but she wants me to tell her what I do. Is it safe to tell her, or should I be afraid she'll commit me?
Thanks in advance for the answers!
I imagine smoking so wild, no psychiatry would probably take you for smoking.
Alcohol is another thing, because alcohol can also lead to a serious dependence, and believe me this is not fun and sugar tasting.
But does your therapist just want to let you know about SVV? Or something else? How bad is his SVV?
I don’t know that well, so I can’t judge it very well and don’t want it. If your therapist wants to introduce you, but it hasn’t done yet, it sounds like a free-willing instruction, which you can possibly think about. She wants to help you. If she wanted to force you, she would say or do so. It’s very dangerous that you’re doing a sort of addiction. Because of alcohol, no one is forced to admit that there is no smoking. But you should definitely talk about it before you get into a spiral from which you get worse. Please talk to her if you trust her. Be careful of what you’re afraid of, why you can’t talk to her and talk to her openly. Maybe she can help you so much. Wish you all the best
From the SVV to alcoholism? This should be an urgent topic of discussion.
