Can guinea pigs be kept outside in winter?

You have to get the animals used to it, for example, by leaving them in an outdoor enclosure overnight in September. You can then keep them outside in the winter as well. Of course, with a hut enclosure, a roof, plenty of straw, and other guinea pigs for socializing and warmth. Will that work?

Yeah, I can. Since 2014, my people have been living out all year round on almost 17sqm (are too victorious). Important is only a lot of space (per animal at least 1 square meter), a walk properly secured from all sides (the ones that are ready to buy are all not properly secured and usually too small), at least 4 animals and an isolated shelter. Just in the winter somewhat more adapted feed.

Yes, if there are at least 4 animals, the enclosure from all 6 pages (!) with spot-welded wire is safe from prey grabs, there is an isolated shelter…

You can. With a covered, weather-protected accommodation and, of course, enough artisans. You shouldn't keep out in winter, just bad old or sick animals.

And, of course, a step way of accusation to the exterior before extreme temperatures prevail.

Yeah, I think so. My rabbits are also out in the stables and cradles all year round. It doesn't matter to them. They cuddle into the hay and straw and warm each other.

You cannot always compare guinea pigs and rabbits. In some things, they don't resemble each other.

Sure, but both have a thick coat in winter

Guinea pigs have no winter fur.

more precisely:

In contrast to rabbits, guinea pigs have no winter fur, but lose and replace their hair all year round. Their feet are unprotected and naked, so they cannot run for too long on cold ground or snow.

Simply put in the summer and is good. From there the animals make everything from themselves.
