You can't really get lost depression, so it's not that you automatically have depression, just because a parent is depressed.

However, one then has a higher probability of depression. But whether you really get a depression depends on other factors.

Not in itself, but it is likely that you will get yourself depression if your family is also depressed 24/7

Yes and no.

Heirs can be certain factors that favor the development of depression.

But there are too many influences that play a role, away from the inherited DNA. Thus, one can only work with statistical probabilities. For the individual, one cannot therefore provide a meaningful prognosis

I think this is less in the DNA than in the atmosphere that prevails in the family, in the attitude to life (how do I deal with conflicts) and in the number of problems that someone has to master.

Yes, that is possible and also very likely. The question of whether the child is really depressed then depends on other factors.
