Can an appointment with an osteopath subsequently affect your period?

Hey!

I went to the osteopath today and was supposed to get my period today. I'm 15 years old and have had my period for about a year and a half.

I'm a bit worried that this massaging and kneading could affect the start of my period or my period in general, because I haven't had it yet.

My period often comes later, but I still wanted to know in advance.

Thank you for your answers!🫶🏼

Hi Girlslove

Normally, such appointments, where one is only massed and “kneaded”, do not affect the period. Are you taking any medication? Because this could then influence the period. But pure massaging isn’t really, no.

At your age, however, it is not rare that the period just comes later or even not. Sometimes there doesn’t even have to be a reason. The period is what she wants. And as you’ve already noticed, it’ll happen again and again with you. So all right, don’t worry about it.

I hope I’ll help you a little with my answer. If you have any questions or need help, you can send me a personal message at any time 🙂

I regularly go to osteopathy. I could not see any change in the period. I don’t always have them on the same date. What can be better after a treatment is the pain when you have them. (Period)
