Can AMD graphics card be easily replaced with Nvidia?
Good morning,
I currently have the following components in my PC:
- MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus AMD B550 So.AM4
- 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR4-4000 DIMM
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 8x 3.80GHz
- 16GB XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT
I have several major problems with the Radeon RX 7800 (probably manufacturing defects), which is why I'm returning it.
Can I easily swap the Radeon for an Nvidia graphics card?
Which would you recommend for the rest of the components? Is the 12GB RTX 4070 comparable/better/worse?
Thanks ^^
Hello!
This is basically not a problem.
You just have to be careful with the drivers.
To do this, use the tool "DisplayDriverUninstaller" (DDU):

First, you completely uninstall the AMD graphics drivers.
Then the standard Windows drivers are activated.
Then shut down the computer and unplug it from the power supply.
Then you replace the graphics card.

When booting, the standard Windows drivers are used again.
Now install the latest drivers for the specific Nvidia GeForce graphics card for the installed operating system.

It would be better if you download these drivers before the replacement.

You can just do it, yes, but I don't know if it's better; you'll have to google it. Don't look at GPU User Benchmark; that's trash.
A 4070 is slightly better than your current one, but should still be possible without a major bottleneck. Graphics cards can usually always be replaced, so the manufacturer doesn't matter. You just have to make sure your power supply delivers enough power and that the card fits in your case. What I'm also interested in is what exactly are your problems. I'm an AMD customer myself and extremely satisfied. Unfortunately, sometimes it's driver bugs that crash the PC.
Ne, nur im Raytracing ist die 4070 besser.
there too, but every nvidia
YES you can simply swap.
First, please use DDU to completely uninstall the AMD driver etc., also download the latest Nvidia driver and then swap the cards.
After a restart it took about 60 seconds because Windows installed some kind of old standard driver from Nvidia.
Then install the new one and you're done.
At least one 4070
Yes you can, but uninstall the AMD graphics drivers first.
