Can't partition USB stick on iMac?

Good evening, I have the following problem. I have a 2013 Mac Book Air and wanted to start it up, but it immediately prompted me with the firmware password. Everything worked perfectly. Now I wanted to connect my 16GB USB stick to it to install Mac OS so that the Mac can have software again, but now I keep getting the error message: This hard drive does not use the GUID partition table scheme. Use Disk Utility to change the partition scheme. Select the volume, click the "Partition" title, select the volume scheme, and then click "Options." Back, but I can only delete the USB stick on the iMac, but not partition it. The field remains gray.

You must first delete before you can partition. And the partition table should not be MSDOS, but GPT.
