Camera adapter is very loose?

I'm just getting into astrophotography and I'm new to it. I bought a T-ring adapter for my Canon camera so I can attach it to my telescope, but unfortunately it's really loose and keeps falling out. My camera also says I can't take photos. Is it not recognizing the adapter?

Without a lens, the camera apparently can’t take photos. The adapter gives the electr. Contacts only further, but is not recognized as an objective.

Unfortunately, I don’t know that exactly, maybe you’ll find an attitude you need to change to your specific camera.

What’s the focal length of your telescope?

That could be. The ring looks like he’s got three holes for screws with which the telescopic adapter is clamped.

How does the thread look on the right part (relative to your first picture)? On the picture it looks as if it weren’t really present.

Very nice!
Which part is too loose? The adapter itself, or the small part which is then in the lens?

See if you have a function “Delete Without Lens” in the settings somewhere.

(1) There is a menu in the camera where you can adjust that it triggers without a lens being connected, you can find in the C.Fn slider menu.

2) The adapter doesn’t look like it fits each other – maybe there’s an intermediate ring or do you have to turn it in? Looks more like M42.
