Learn to play the Cajon for beginners?

Hello,

I am (f) 15 and would like to learn to play the Cajon.

As a child, I taught myself to play the recorder and the flute using a book.
Do you have any recommendations on how to learn, like a book you can recommend? Or do you absolutely need a music school?
What should you consider when buying a cajon?

Will it ever be possible to freestyle accompany any song if you have only learned it from a book?

Thanks in advance 🙂

I got a good rhythm feeling at the beginning, for example, with a shaker, then the tambour (also for the feet) came with it and finally the cajon. Because I have been playing all the instruments mentioned (and also some more, like different drums etc.) for some time, I have not learned the Cajon extra.

For example, I combine it with the guitar play as a bass… in some songs it just fits.

You can try the same thing, then accompany simple songs with it. When buying, I took care that I tested it before and did not buy cheap. Because who buys cheap, buys twice (perfectly already often made experiences)

If you have a good rhythm in general, I’m sure it works. Although it’s not as easy as it looks. The Cajon must please you from the sound, many (especially cheap) have little bass and sound very thin. An adjustable snare is also advantageous. 😊
