Let yourself be inspired by your surroundings. Read, listen to music, go to town and listen to people…

Ideas can be found everywhere. You just have to cancel it.

If you just copy an idea, it’s not your work. You won’t be happy with that. Ideas must come from the deep inside & be written to become masterpieces. Theoretical you can also Chat work, but would you really do that?

Therefore, I recommend to you here some methods that are recommended for authors & all who would like to be recommended for ideas. I would like to call you four, which I consider to be very useful:

  • Freewriting: Freewiriting is a summary of history for about ten minutes. The important thing is that you just write on it and put everything on the sheet that comes to mind without interruption. At the end you go over the written & marks everything customizable.
  • Brainstorming: Brainstorming is known from school. You simply write down terms that come to mind. If you have a certain amount, you try to make a story from the words.
  • minmapping: Mindmapping has similarities to brainstorming. Only that you relate words by arrows. For example, you can draw lines between the names of your characters to symbolize relationships. An alternative are lists of words under certain generic terms. Or you write the words on card cards & arrange them to match each other.
  • Snowflake Method:Write the basic idea of your action in one sentence. Extend the basic idea in the next sentence by further details & aspects. Write more and more sentences & try to become more specific from sentence to sentence. The plot then grows like a snow avalanche.

In common, a story of three “elements” is composed:

  1. Worldbuilding
  2. Character
  3. Plot (handling)

You can start with one of the three. Often ideas for the other elements automatically emerge. For example, one can derive motivations from figures to act, which makes the plot. Or a completely written world opens up to you what problems or people there might be, which brings you to the plot and character drawing.

Good luck!

Why “doesn’t fantasy go”?

The comments here are really good. I would recommend:

-to think and paint an OC and then consider which story he might have and in which genre he is etc.

-read from different genres of different authors. Not to copy something, but to get distance from your own writing.

-Give pictures on Pinterest. Just sneak and you might get an idea

-write an image analysis about an animal and let you inspire by zb the posture, the facial expression etc.

Otherwise what the others wrote. Much success

Maybe you need a couple of days off here. If you walk in nature or visit zoos where animals are coming to you spontaneously ideas, note these into your phone and after a time the ideas go together.

Thank you very much.

You should have ideas yourself if you want to write a book.

Get dressed and get out. Maybe you get new ideas through the fresh air.
