Stock cubes expiration date 05/2023? Edible?

I was just about to make a casserole and got these cubes today. However, I saw that the expiration date says "05/2023." Can I still use them, or should I throw them away? Does that mean the beginning or end of May? I've never smelled them, so I can't tell if they smell good or bad 🙁

If only one month is specified then the shelf life applies for the whole month.

But even if the month is over, the product will not be bad within a day. Because products that are durable forever do not change so quickly. If it was stored dry and visually unchanged, you can eat it for a long time.

There is certainly no expiry date on it, but a Minimumdurability date. This means nothing other than that a product is still qualitatively perfect until the specified date. It doesn’t mean it’s poisonous from that date.

You can definitely use the brewing cubes for the whole month. In the case of correct storage, they probably keep for months. In doubt, one uses his senses to determine whether a product that is beyond the MHD is still good: one looks at whether it still looks flawless, smells on it and tastes cautiously (in this case best from the dissolved broth). As long as it still looks flawless, smells and tastes, it can be eaten without a doubt.

Only foods that actually have a expiry date or consumption date (mainly meat and fish) should be consumed up to that date.

It doesn’t matter. As long as broth does not draw water, it will never be bad. This gives only one “taste guarantee”. Because, in the case of dry broth, nothing happens unless there is any loss of business.

Brush cubes, when stored dry, can be kept virtually unlimited. The flavors will easily decompose out of the salt but this takes a really long time. So don’t throw away, even if they have become a little darker with time. It’s different with broth from the glass, so the powder… They knock together sometime – they’re still okay, but they’re hard to get up. Therefore, cubes are better anyway if you only use such broth occasionally.

It’s not an expiration date.

This is a minimum guarantee and this is not even exceeded.

There’s nothing wrong with a brew cube. You can also use it in many years. At some point he loses the taste.

Yeah, month of May is not around yet.

Are they sure they have an expiry date and no minimum retention date?

MHD or Exp isn’t there?

I guess it won’t be the date you bought it.

Don’t make your head and your broth.

Then it will be safe to stand somewhere: minimum durability date see print or something.

But to calm your fear, 05/23 has not yet expired.
no matter whether expiry date or minimum

It can also be used in a year.

Honestly, without attacking you personally, but sometimes thinking realistically about such things….

You will still be able to use if the consistency is normal.

It’s gonna last forever.

Do they still taste? I’d be skeptical at 7 years.

Because it’s harder for us to eat, my parents still have broth older than me. You can still eat. No problem.

Tastes, I think something else.

Is loose broth different than cubes? I don’t want both to pull water. But no more. Cubes are pre-dosed – in loose broth you make it yourself. That’s all I see.

I have also bought “Brüh cubes” and “Soßen cubes” which have expired about 6 years – and I don’t use it either. I’ll buy broths in glass cans. They wanted to throw them away a long time, but…

What I’m saying: Years of past baking powder – just doesn’t work anymore:-D.
