Brown trout in a small stream?
Hello,
I would like to ask if it is possible to keep brown trout in a stream that is on average 60 to 80 cm wide and approximately 10 to 45 cm deep? The water quality is very good and it is approximately 3.5 km long. Current strength: medium.
I am really grateful to anyone who has even the slightest idea or to anyone who knows a lot about this.
Best regards,
Elijah
Moin,
So for me sounds like a natural Forellenbach. In the things you can actually catch them by hand.
If the brook has stable conditions, so always water and does not tilt in summer, then there should be trout naturally. Classical brook in the Black Forest or Bavarian Forest, for example.
You can do the assignment, of course, but it’s just appropriate. (In the description maybe 10 pieces on the 3.5 km total?). More will surely get you out and so will most of them go away.
The chances increase when there are proper flushing and rags to be found.
If things are rather in the style of a dewatering trench of a field, then maybe Aale are more exciting.
The only problem is that you can’t put up any barriers in the brook skating, and if you were using fish, they’d probably walk away from you no matter what type of fish it is.
No, that is not possible or not sensitive.
Whereby, 3.5 km length should normally make a significant difference in the size of a brook.
In the middle mountains, brook trouts often up to about 1 to 3 km of the source. But these are natural fish stocks. In the middle mountains, each suitable stream (not too acidic, not extremely installed or mudded) is already settled. Moderate exposure to wastewater often increases the productivity of the streams and causes mass occurrences of the brook trout eutrophic conditions, high water hardness and yet cold, oxygen-rich and pourable are ideal. Very good water quality is an "eco myth" regarding this species of fish. The best is: As dirty as it is, it does not end up in poisoning, mud and lack of oxygen and affecting the spawnings.
But why… hold ?
Why don't you stop at 3.5 km?
Do you have an idea or plan?
By the way, brook trouts are kept relatively rare as fish culture because they need more space than related North American species.
PS: The attempt to keep brook trout in rough little streams is very risky and can easily go wrong- The amount of food and temperature can both quickly sack sensitively. trouts are not particularly tolerant to very low temperatures or high.
Okay, thank you for your answer!
Previously, there were some inside (20 years ago) and there could even be welceh inside. do you have an idea how to find out?

Keep walking and watching.
It’s a little marginal, but it works. From the fishing club also have several streams in about the size. However, some of the conditions are important.
