Broken collarbone, do you think surgery is necessary?
I recently broke my collarbone for the first time at 14. At the hospital, they just gave me a bandage and said it would heal on its own. Today, however, I went to the orthopedist, and the doctor said I definitely needed surgery. She's not a trauma surgeon, so she's not entirely sure. I'm really worried, because we've already booked everything for our vacation. If I do have surgery, how long will it take to heal? Does anyone have any experience with this?
Here is another x-ray of my collarbone.
You can't say that. The best way to talk to the doctor about it is to tell you more than we are here
The bone fragments are displaced relative to each other. If the X-ray N is placed on the backpack association, it may be useful for cosmetic reasons to operate because, after healing, it may be possible to see an asymmetry on the opposite side. If the picture has been made to put the Rucksach Association, then it is not suitable to answer your questions!!
An OP is not a big deal. A small plate and a few small cupcakes. Without a risk, however, there is no surgery, and how long you have to stay in the ward, if you can go on holiday after the surgery, and you can best discuss everything else with the doctors. If one KH does not want to operate and you have doubts about their assessment, consult another or a settled surgeon.
I thank you very much for this news!!
I'm very sure you have to operate this
Don't let it operate My key bone has grown much more sloppy, and it's okay. The break was fixed after 17 days. Operating means breaking new. It's not worth it.
So the break isn't straight but at the rest you have to talk to your doctor
All the best
Do you know how long it takes to heal when it is operated?
Definitely one piece is always quite individual but 3-6 months loose
Please talk to an accident surgeon. Such an assessment cannot be given here via the Internet without seeing the X-rays in the original on a good screen, or performing a physical examination.
I'm aware of that, but I'm doing too much to worry about.
