Wear glasses permanently?

Hello everyone,

During my last eye test, I was diagnosed with a visual impairment of -0.25 diopters on the right and -1.25 diopters on the left. Therefore, I had glasses fitted.

Question: Should I wear these permanently?

Thank you for your answer

Hello,

at the last vision test, a visual weakness of -0.25 dioptriene and left of -1,25 dioptriene was detected on the right.

You will be with your left eye from approx. 80 cm without glasses no longer recognize sharp. Your right eye takes the lead now – with -0.25 diopters you can see clearly up to 4 meters; after that, writing on posters, street signs, etc. becomes unsharp. The left, worse eye is ‘blinded’ by the brain, you see more with the right eye.

So I got a glasses adapted.

Question: Should I wear this permanently?

Yeah, definitely. You and your eyes only do good with it, they don’t have to do so anymore.

Yeah, just because of the difference between the two eyes, you should support your left eye through a glasses. But you should know in advance that it doesn’t matter to your eyes whether you wear glasses or not. They will therefore neither improve nor worsen.

Therefore, it remains your very personal decision whether you see the glasses as an enrichment or reject them for whatever reason. I got my first glasses on both sides -0.75 diopters and they were worn equally permanently, I was much too cumbersome with the constant set-up and set-off.

You don’t have to. You decide whether the glasses help you or whether your eyes can do this on your own. With these numbers, the difference is minimal. A glasses is not a must.

He’s not.

On the left without glasses the FS only looks clear up to 80 cm. Right without glasses up to 4 meters. The difference is enormous.

If you look at the fact that FS with the right eye has a 100% visual performance with the left eye a visual performance of 25%, then you are absolutely right. Spatial vision is almost impossible with these eyes without correction. There’s no driver’s license.
The only thing I give you right is the finding that the FS alone must decide whether he wants to see sharp or blurred in everything he does. The less the left eye is demanded, the greater the risk is that it deteriorates and adjusts its work.

You can do that as you like (except when driving by car, it would be mandatory).

I wouldn’t wear glasses with such low values, but as I said, everyone has to decide.

With me it was also that the left eye was significantly worse than the right.I then also worn the glasses equally.

Only you can judge whether you like to wear your glasses or rather just need-oriented. With things that do not have fixed rules, I find it better to simply decide for personal sense instead of asking others.

You have to test yourself how to do better.

If the ophthalmologist recommends that.

The glasses will only bring you visual advantages during the day.
