Letter from “amazonProject” – Is this really from Amazon?
Hello everyone,
I received a letter from Amazon yesterday, but I'm not sure if it could be a scam.
The letter states that I've been selected to participate in an Early Revier Project. I can test certain products and then review them. ;))
(The letter has a QR code and advertising-like images printed on it. I censored them, of course.)
The letter appears to be from "amazonProject." But I'd never heard of it before. I googled it, and all I found was something about trademark protection and that Amazon has an internal tool. It's called "Amazon Project Zero." My letter is missing the "Zero," and I wouldn't call myself the trademark owner. My last name was also written in lowercase, and Germany was misspelled ("Duitsland").
The whole thing seems very dubious to me. Or is this simply an accidental mistake on Amazon's part? And if it isn't Amazon, how do these scammers get my address, and how can I better protect myself? I'm generally extremely skeptical and actually quite cautious about everything on the internet (at least I thought so).
Would be nice if someone could help me.
Thank you in advance! 🙂
Works disgusting. If I had landed directly in the recycle bin.
I’ll throw the letter away, too. I was just interested in whether it was scam or not. Thanks anyway!
