Brandy vinegar?

Can it actually go bad? I just noticed a strange cloud floating around in my bottle. It looks like a mishapen jellyfish. The bottle has been sitting open in the kitchen for about three months. I've never seen anything like that before.

This is the so-called vinegar nut and completely harmless. In some families, this is even inherited from generation to generation and used to produce new vinegars.
