Burning smell in new lamp?
I have a Hitachi UB12DL rechargeable neon lamp. After I put in the wrong battery (the battery had reversed polarity), it smelled burnt. However, the lamp continues to glow normally with the correct battery, but it smells the whole time. I also unscrewed it, but couldn't find anything unusual on the circuit board.

I always have a delicate snack and snoop as little as a truffle drink. If you smell something, you should see something. Perhaps even the paint is vaporized on the board, or is there a coil where the lacquer of insulation has become hot?
