Bought a car, suddenly has transmission problems?
Hello dear community,
I bought a vehicle from VW two weeks ago and picked it up today. The pickup location was 80 km from my hometown. When I got home, the following message popped up on the display: "Transmission in emergency mode. No reverse gear."
I called the salesman, who referred me to VW breakdown service. I called them, and an hour later, the vehicle was towed to the nearest VW repair shop.
What I'm wondering now is, do I have the right to a rental car? The salesman didn't mention it, but I can't stay without a vehicle; I need a car.
Up to 12 months after purchase, one assumes that the damage has already existed during the purchase without the customer having to prove this. Therefore, of course, this is a warranty case and the dealer must indemnify you for the loss of use of your vehicle – for example by providing a rental car.
No, they’re 12 months!
Jo’s right. I haven’t been up to date.
in my case, the mobility guarantee applies. But the mobility guarantee only pays a maximum of 3 days the rental car. What if my vehicle has to stay in the workshop for 2 weeks, does the dealer have to provide me with a rental car for all the time while my vehicle is in the workshop?
You are entitled to a rental car
