Bootfähigen USB-Stick für Dauerbetrieb geeignet?
Hi,
wollte mal fragen ob so ein bootfähiger USB-Stick mit zb Linux drauf für den Dauerbetrieb auf einem Windowsrechner geeignet ist. Ich habe einen mit Ubuntu erstellt und der funktioniert auch perfekt. Ich bin mir nur unsicher ob das in irgendeiner Weise schlecht für den PC sein kann, wenn man ihn Regelmäßig intensiv nutzt. Virtuelle Boxen benutze ich aufgrund der Leistungseinbuße nicht gern auf Dauer.
Muss ich mir nun bei dauerhafter Nutzung eines solchen USB-Sticks Gedanken machen und wenn ja, was für Alternativen gibt es, falls diese überhaupt existieren?

Hello Space, I run two computers with Linux Mint from the USB pen. Both computers boot easily from the USB pen – in one of them is not even a hard disk.
During operation there are no restrictions, both work persistent – just like a hard disk.
Just get quick pens and do that, you won’t notice any difference to the HD operation. Then, if desired, you can clamp the hard drive to maintain its life.
Although Linux is super easy to install on pen (without an auxiliary program!) I purchase current Linux USB pens fully installed for 10€ from the German dealer IXSOFT. There is then a persistent installation on it and a live version (without storage). Occasionally I give them to good friends and people interested in safe, perfectly equipped and user-friendly operating systems. This allows newcomers to run the PCs with all devices without any further action.
