No, they’re not the same size. In addition, B787 and B777 have different options, which engines can be used:

B787:

    • General Electric GEnx (fan diameter 2.822 m)
    • Rolls Royce Trent 1000 (fan diameter 2.84 m)

    B777

      • General Electric GE90 (the most common type in different variants. The fan diameter is > 3m
      • Rolls Royce Trent 800 (in different variants. Fan diameter 2.974 m)
      • Pratt & Whitney PW4000 (fan diameter 2.85 m)

      I hope I have not forgotten an engine, but as you see, there are differences, even if the size difference is only a few cm.

      Watch the video of AeroNewsGermany on YouTube. He made a video showing the biggest and strongest engines. Very interesting.
