BMW i8 not a good car?

Hey people.
I don't think the BMW i8 is a good car.
First, the i8 is listed as an electric car, but since it also has a combustion engine, it would be a hybrid. Second, the i8 can only travel 37 km on electric power alone. Given this limited range, the electric drive could have been left out entirely.
Thirdly: since the i8 only has a two-cylinder combustion engine, the sound comes from speakers.
I summarize: Actually a hybrid, only 37 km electric range, only 2 cylinder combustion engine, engine sound from speakers

You would be much better off with a Tesla Model S.
What do you all mean?
Best regards

He has three cylinders. 3 cylinders do not have to sound bad… find the i8 but also not good. In my opinion, there is no right of existence. A pseudo sportsman for well-being is the 911 in the smallest stage, but not the i8.

Very chic from the front, but visually too short. From the door, it looks just assembled.

Is also a plug-in hybrid and not a pure current, that is true

Well, the only good thing I think is the external design and the mix of nem burner and electric, but I8 is never worth 130,000 euros for me, as there are clearly better.

  1. Really? No with brain specifies the i8 as an electric car, but correctly as a plugin hybrid. I don’t know where you got this.
  2. 37km of electric range is not exceptionally low in a hybrid – in 2014 the e-car development is also worlds. Even the much newer and more practical suitability of the current Prius just creates 50km
  3. I understand the mental problem, but also an exhaust only gives a specially designed sound, not the real sound of the engine. So you just have to postpone your definition. Or: Even the richest guitar solo only sounds like mosquito fur, if the fender does not hang on an amplifier to 11. In the end, everything is artificial.

All this doesn’t change the fact that it’s a stupid car like most niche bodies. Tesla are ultimately built for practicality, the i8 is a rolling technology concept and advertising medium and was never intended for mass.

1. 3 cylinders
Two. 37km are normal for hybrids
3. the car only exists because it is good for marketing and should show BMW’s future capability. Of course there are also some rich people who then buy it.
4. theoretically, all sports cars are unnecessary, as they only serve for fun, yet we are all happy that they exist. And one thing is certain: the i8 will definitely become an expensive classic.

Yes I find the i8 so lala…

may be nice but nice is known as the little brother of? ;D

The Activesound is not so bad, the Golf GTD also makes…

The 37km range is a bad joke, the hybrid system gives me more of a ker from the F1 so short boost after a curve and short charging during braking.

Is nothing worse than the A6 “Competition” or how those who are louder at just over idle speed than at full load.

But… Mofaroller with sports exhaust… or my neighbor who just falls a tree around half 12… with a chain saw….

That’s clear. Fands just funny because it was logical

But right…. Truck brake drum 60kg…. Truck motor 1500kg, Truck gearbox 500kg

A car is usually lighter than the 3 parts together

A couple of years ago, that was still in training, we bought old 190s. Was his, but they screwed around. This means that everything is so relaxed and much lighter (from weight) than with trucks. I never say that.😂😂

Yeah, when do you get to screw your own on the truck? ;D

Here and there on a ollen handset the brakes etc. that can be privately only cars and motorcycles… partly also quads

Not bad. A buddy did before me too. So before that truck mechanic and then the master in commercial vehicle technology, if so called. Screws too much on cars, on trucks privately less 😅

Yes, I am… I’m still doing my master in commercial vehicle technology.

Yeah, but that’s a truck. If the sound is good and you’re on your way 5 days a week 10 hours, it’s certainly too much 😅

do I think 😅 are you truck mechanic?

Oh also mine would have an active sound as bad as the warm air pustet;D

Once had a Mercedes Benz SK 1848 with opened row injection without a final pot on the farm…

He has a brachial cnattering and sweeping sound but echoing, sound he was ;D

This was a 14.6L Biturbo V8 diesel with charge air cooling and series 480Ps with the changed-over row injection (conveying quantity high screwed) that will have had somewhere to the 700Ps and good 2500n torque ;D

The whole thing with a 1-generation Mercedes EPS transmission and differential lock in winter on the snowy farm….

Have fun with the part! ;D

But you have a gasoline if any sound should be amplified, then with a nem sparkler and not with a nem self-ignitor with loudspeakers. If you’re driving the exhaust down yours and you’re screwing or welding any other system under it, it sounds different. At the diesel you can get the DPF out and empty the exhaust, at the end it just screams unpleasant. They have to help with electronics, artificially. That’s what I meant.

Just find ridiculous. In the diesel, they give so much effort for noise and lye and the thick S and RS sound after nothing. World

My Corsa also has no sound… except if it turns through 215/45R17 ;D

The 1.4 Turbo as Euro 5er is so constricted with electronics and otherwise something for great exhaust there comes a light pipe out at the back ;D

I’m not a fan of mopeds, no matter what machines are under. What sounds good are 2 clock outboard, is also only motorcycle technology. Without cat, without any dampers, simply an exhaust 😅

Nonameguzzi

If I want to have spund I want to drive motorcycle….

4 carburetors, 4 cylinders, 4 in 1 without cat or otherwise a crap in between. An ESD from Roadsitalia (which I recommend to every 125 rider and who are looking for an ast out why only for right motorcycles)

But that is a necessary evil. A diesel that doesn’t turn 5000, and generally shit or sounds like nothing. I’m sorry, but he had one himself, and he’s got a good idea for a diesel. 😅

you don’t need to build a sound generator in the exhaust. They can build 6 cylinders quietly. so it is not. Then simply modify even more in the other (leise) direction and do not mark the embarrassment with nem self-ignition and speaker. Potent amplifiers belong to the car and not under the car

I like the concept itself. a small burner that can always work in the optimal range provides the energy for driving. during the drive purely electrically.

I also find it a bit inconvenient that it is necessary to make artificial noise with a vehicle that is to be environmentally friendly.

I don’t care about the design. but this is just a matter of view.
