Bmw e46 rear wheel against curb, wheel crooked, no longer drives?
Hello everyone.
First the situation as it happened.
It was raining, and I was taking a corner at high speed (I know, my mistake), and the car skidded and then hit a curb with its right rear wheel. The rim is scratched and the wheel is crooked. I called a tow truck, drove up to the ramp, and my car was driven to my house. When we got home, I let my car roll down (engine was running), and then suddenly it made a loud noise (from the rear, like something was blocking the tires from spinning). Well, then I put it in first gear, and it wouldn't move, and it still wouldn't move.
Now my question is, what could be wrong? I know remote diagnosis is crap, but it's better than nothing.
I have also uploaded pictures.
Tires, rims, wheel suspension in any case.
As wrong as the wheel stands, the axle carrier might have gotten something.
If you have bad luck, the drive shaft is also in the bucket. The differential is not designed as megastable at the E46 either. If that's what happened to the blow, you'll get into the areas of total economic damage.
That the wheel is tilted: there is something broken at the wheel suspension.
That the wheel no longer turns: I tap a blocked differential if your statement he did not go is to be interpreted in such a way that the engine would be strangled after full coupling.
No, the engine stopped, but nothing happens. It remains at the place
Oh, yeah. Then the drive shaft is probably torn off or broken.
That's what you've captured.
If you have bad luck (it cannot be seen on the basis of the pictures), the axis is in the bucket, the suspension is very likely!
Piggyback to the workshop, make an estimate…
There are a few handlebars crooked and the outer joint of the drive shaft is crumbled.
That means I need a new drive shaft for the rear right and a new thrust strut, right?
You need all damaged parts new.
Track rods, wheel suspension axle or similar damaged.
Case for the workshop.
Trays probably bent, but let it be cleared in the workshop
