BMW E46 318ci WON'T START?

I have the following problem. Last night I drove about 60 km on the motorway. 100 m before I had to leave the motorway, two warning lights came on: battery and oil. After I checked the oil level, there was very little oil in it. I then poured in 4 liters of 5w30, just like the previous owner had used for years. After I poured that in, the car no longer started. It was as if the battery was flat, but the radio worked without any problems and the ignition also turned on.
