Keep the BMW e23 “barn find”?

Does anyone here know anything about vintage BMWs?
There has been a BMW E23 735i in our barn for 30 years and I'm wondering if we can sell it now or if we should wait.

The car is not drivable, had a transmission failure, is quite dusty and smells old in the interior.

However, I estimate the condition of the body to be quite good. I don't see any rust.
I think the engine, drivetrain and chassis need a lot of love and spare parts.

Is it worth rebuilding the car because it will probably increase in value over the next few years or should I just sell it to a hobbyist in its current condition.

We would need the space in the barn but I really like the look of the BMW… but I think it will be very expensive to get it roadworthy again.

I would do it like this:

at mobile.de you need the same vehicle (year of manufacture kilometers etc approximate details) and look at what price they are traded then you are looking for about an average and insulate it and do not sell it under the desired value, but otherwise it looks like if the car has a speciality (for example one of the last or one of the first etc) then the car can have a very high value (more hundred thousand euros)

So such things can make a lot of value I would send an e-mail to the BMW Museum before I sell the car quite normally, with a few pictures best also a pair of pictures of the letter and simply ask if the interest have to buy the car costs nothing and then see more

Very pleasing design! Could you, I think, still sell as a new car today.

For example, I would ask at the Classic-Remise in Düsseldorf or a similar shop, but first as an interested party to find out how high the parts are traded.

Then you could still offer them.

offer the hobble in a factory newspaper by BMW friends!
