BMW 116i Red warning sign?
Hey, I hope someone can help me. I have a 2008 BMW 1 Series (122 hp petrol engine). I went shopping one evening as usual and on the way home the yellow coolant warning light came on and the car vibrated a bit. I pulled over to the right and looked to see what was going on. The heater isn't working anymore, only cold air is coming out. I turned the car off and started it again. I drove a bit and it started again but this time the red warning light came up. It can't be the coolant because it's full. I checked when the engine was cold and everything was fine. Now the question is, has anyone ever had this happen to them? Does anyone know what it is? Thanks in advance.
Even if the cooling water level in the compensating tank is perhaps full, you still have a problem with engine cooling.
Your engine gets too hot, the heating does not run – my tip: thermostat defective. This does not open, so the hot cooling water does not enter the heating circuit or the water cooler. Ergo: no engine cooling, no heating!
Okay, did you fix this before or did you have the same problem? Is the repair expensive, or can you exchange it yourself? Thank you for the answer
Not yet with the BMW. I don’t know how elaborate this is and how well you get there. I wouldn’t recommend doing anything better without any expert knowledge, because the cooling system must then be properly vented.
Everything you write indicates too little cooling water. When did you control the cooling water level? After the news came and the heating didn’t get warm?
It could be that the water pump does not work. It could also be that the thermostat has not opened, and I do not know what influence this has on the heating.
Yes, after I noticed that only cold air comes out, I let the car cool down and checked if there’s enough cooling water inside. It was really good. Now I don’t know what the problem is.
Now I’m taping the thermostat. That’s not a big deal, if you get good.
above, non-snall signs, including brake as it looks
the lower temperature too high
at the top, not recognizable see there 2 pcs.
Have you checked coolant level before? It seems to be a problem with engine cooling or that the cooling water becomes too hot. The newer BMW models have no cooling water temp display.
The first thing: there’s someone not strapped.
I can’t see the other one.
Yeah, the workshop knows. They can examine your car and don’t have to put any mutations on the basis of an image.
Is that a workshop? So you could have saved your message
