Blutspende AB+ überhaupt notwendig?

Ich war letzten Monat das erste Mal Blutspenden. Dabei wurde bei mir die Blutgruppe AB+ festgestellt. Nun ist es ja so, dass Menschen dieser Blutgruppe Blut von allen Blutgruppen erhalten können, jedoch nur Blut für die gleiche Blutgruppe spenden können. Das heißt doch aber auch, dass ich dann eigentlich nicht regelmäßig spenden muss, da dieses Blut doch eh kaum verwendet wird, oder?

Hi.

You are right, the group AB is not only rare, but also not compatible for A,B and 0.

However, in the whole blood donation your blood is administered nich 1:1 as it was removed, but it is divided into 3 different concentrates (erytrocytes, leukocytes and plasma). The erys are only compatible with other AB receivers, plasma and leukos can be administered independently.

So your donation also gets people from other blood groups;)

I also have AB+ and still had thought to donate. You can never have too much of canned, who knows maybe you’re going to save someone like that.

Blood is always needed.
