Blender and Gimp; why doesn't it work with geometry?
Hello,
In Blender, behind the Materials tab, the user has the option to add a texture and add depth to the texture using the "Geometry setting".
I created a texture in Gimp.
The texture is exported in grayscale and also in rgb.
The depth of the texture is not recognized; it just remains black in those places.
does anyone have an explanation for this

Here's how I did it.

It could be that the problem with the depth of the texture in Blender is the way the texture was created in Gimp. Perhaps the grayscales were not correctly converted or the depth of the texture was not defined accordingly. It is important to ensure that the texture has been correctly exported and the depth is in a format that can be recognized by Blender. It might also be helpful to check the settings in Blender to ensure that the texture is applied correctly and the depth is correctly displayed. Sometimes it can also be at the lighting settings or other factors in the scene that affect the representation of the depth. It might be useful to try out and experiment different settings to solve the problem.
If you have a guide in which format and with which settings the texture must be exported from Gimp so that it works.
With the out-exported UV on which I have united the sewable planes, it worked out in the end.
Only unfortunately not if the same file was only used without the UV layer and exported.
