Blackmail by email?

Hey people.

I just received an email in poor German extorting me. Do I have to report it, or what should I do now? Here's the text from the email…

Greetings!

Here is the final warning!

Your system has been hacked.

We've copied all the data from your device to our servers. We've also recorded a video from your camera showing you a porn movie.

My virus has infected your device through the adult website you recently visited.

If you don't know how it works, here are the details.

The Trojan virus gives me complete access and control over your device.

Therefore I can see your entire screen, turn on the camera and microphone without you even knowing about it.

I captured the video from your screen and camera and made a film in one part of which you can see you masturbating, and in the other – the porn film that you were watching at the same time.

I see the entire list of your contacts from your phone and all social networks.

I can send this movie to all contacts on your phone, email and social networks with just one click.

In addition, I can send the data of your email and messenger to all over the world.

This will destroy your reputation forever.

If you want to avoid such events, do the following-

Transfer 1400 USD (American dollars) to my Bitcoin wallet

(If you don't know how to do this, type "buy Bitcoin" into the Google search field).

My Bitcoin wallet (BTC wallet): bc1q2m07fr60w00rtfdavhrdqx4y3da5da54h83a37

Once payment has been made, your video will be destroyed and you will not hear from me again.

You have 50 hours (just over 2 days) to make this payment.

I'll receive an automatic notification when I read this email. The timer will also start automatically after you read the email.

Don't complain anywhere because my BTC wallet can't be tracked. This email is also untraceable and is generated automatically, so any response would be pointless.

If you share this email with someone, our system will send a request to the servers and they will upload all the data immediately to social networks.

Exchanging passwords from social networks, email and devices will not help you as all data is already downloaded to my server cluster.

I wish you luck and don't do anything stupid. Consider your reputation.

Moin,

that’s total bullshit. Simply delete and is good. Apart from that, the “Hacker” does not seem to know how a Trojan works properly.

Stink normal spam.

If you want to report this to the police, you can do it online. However, then you need to know how to display the complete header with your email program. Because the content alone and the sender email are useless.

I use Outlook Live, that would be the way https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/view-internet-message-headers-in-outlook-cd039382-dc6e-4264-ac74-c048563d212c

Just don’t do anything. Just delete. I’ve had two times. Nothing happened.

Simply delete the part and set the spam/junk filter for the sender domain. It’s one of the usual spammails.

Then you can save the question anyway.

Classic case for the Delete button.

Many times you get such mails. I was filmed in front of my PC when masturbating. Jau klor, without webcam!

The mail will be sent to many thousands of people at the same time. You just need to fall in on it.

That’s mass spam, there’s no ad worth it. Nobody can follow that.

Hello willhelfen1,

see, and to the backgrounds, how such a thing “goes”, my answers, which are considered to be the most “helpful answer”, here and here . In the case of your email, it is exactly the same; You’re not doing anything, you just ignore it.

They usually don’t really have your data. hacking individual computers is such scams too much effort; but they are trying to break into some kind of demanded internet platforms and to fish off the “customer data”. Unfortunately, they are always successful and there are also cases in which e-mails and passwords on servers have not been encoded sufficiently securely so that the hackers then come into possession of just a lot of data quantities. Even with large online shops, there are always data panels, e.g. only two years ago at Re-In Retail, which are behind Digitalo and Voelkner, seehttps://www.test.de/Dataleck-bei-voelknerde-Onlineshop-verriet-Address- und-Order-von-Nutzern-5711516-0/or at the end of 2019 at Conrad-Electronic (which is known to be a giant company), whose group of companies in turn belongs to Re-In Retail, seehttps://www.dsgvo-portal.de/news/dataleck_bei_conrad_14_mio_datasaetze.phpFor example, 14 million records were exploited in this attack, including IBANs and credit card data.

As a result, the fraudsters can send e-mails to all those affected who make them look as if they really hacked you. Even if only every 100th falls into it and pays, that is still a giant business without any effort. And as you look in a millimeter, you’re the fish that hits the fishing hook, and it’s gonna be fun for the scammer to start the drill with you, and to keep you ticking and bleeding. With only the slightest reaction to the extortion attempt, you would only become a prey; therefore absolutely not react to it.

There are even internet sites likehttps://haveibeenpwned.com/, who try to collect which stolen records there are and where you can ask if your own data is included. And even if this would be something like the 14 or 15 years old user here, then the same rules of conduct would apply.

So laugh and delete … .

Greetings ðŸTM‚
