Am I underweight? (Do I actually feel fat)?

Hi.

I measured my BMI out of curiosity and came up with 17, which is actually underweight. (I'm 13 years old, male, 170cm tall, 50kg.)

But I feel like I'm fat and I don't feel good about my body.

What should I do?

Best regards,

No, you have no underweight. The BMI details you found relate to adults and are not suitable for children and young people.

Here’s a matching BMI calculator: https://www.kinderaerzte-im-netz.de/mediathek/bmi-computer/

He says when you enter your values:

BMI table for this age category:

Underweight from a value less than 15.92

Lower range of normal weight from a value less than: 17.06

upper range of normal weight from a value greater than: 20.62

Overweight exceeding a value exceeding 23.01

Wouldn’t take any more off at your place.

If you want to feel more comfortable in your body, sports are offered, such as building strength training.

Regarding nutrition for a good build-up program, you should be advised by a fitness trainer once it is ready.

Since you’re still in growth with 13 you should start training slowly. Especially training with your body weight in favor of a certain basic fitness offer

Also very well suited is martial arts with which you can acquire a very powerful and defined muscle.

You are not underweight and the BMI only gives an accurate result from full year.

Hello CookyToaster,

then something is wrong with your mirror.

You can still pack 10 kilos and still be slender.

So always eat nicely.
