Cheap and reliable vans?

Hello everyone, thank you in advance for your help.

I want to buy a panel van sometime this year and would like to convert it into a camper van. Which panel vans are cheap and reliable? Unfortunately, I'm not that good with engines, but I could manage the rest (I'll leave it in my garage for a long time). I'd like to buy a cheaper van, €5,000-8,000, and then put more money into the conversion, as I'm not very well off financially. (I'm Swabian and want to save :)) The only thing that's important to me is that it's reliable and has all-wheel drive (preferably, or I can retrofit it as long as it doesn't cost a fortune). I've read a lot about Ford Transits, and that they're very reliable; you just have to watch out for rust.

I thank you

In the price segment, you only get soul sellers who have run either godless KM or have maintenance store to the most recent court and a maintenance state that calls for the scrap press. You won’t be happy as a swamp, I can promise you now.

Often such cars are only good for export or just as a transition until a new box car is to be bought or delivered.

Here’s my tip, look, that you’ll be around again. Save 10k€, then you really have something you can drive very well for the next few years.

At the price range you have to expect repairs very quickly. If you’re worth the “saving” next year is a lot to pay for repair – go for it. My cousin did the same. Second year of repairs almost the purchase price again. Among others: brakes, clutch, dome bearing, complete engine, exhaust,…

You want to check the engine. He just went out with my cousin and there was nothing left. Look, you wouldn’t have done anything. Because that’s not predictable. If they hadn’t had a hit with a trailer, the towing would have cost again, as the ADAC only brings to the next workshop. So you want to cut off tires, expand the crossbars to see if the dome camp is okay??

Then keep buying for the price, but don’t mess around when in two to five years the car is scrap or n cost-eaters of special equals. Then remember that you have to invest in about the purchase price once a year.

You can forget about all-wheel car with your budget.

If you can dispense with Allrad or if a VW T5 is enough for you, that’s enough.

I can’t look at this without the app, I’m sorry.

Really? Once had a box car that was 7 years old when I had written a smart lawyer that would be worth 0 €.

According to Autohaus, the value was €10000, but lawyers are often also legal defenders.

The first is a high-speed construction site vehicle that has its life behind it. You have to consider why the previous owner has delivered this vehicle. A construction company does not sell a well-running vehicle, which are dried down until they become uneconomical.

I’d rather look at the second one.

More like a T5 that t4 are more popular and more expensive. But I thought they were too small for you and you’d rather look towards transit, crafter, Sprinter.

And get one with Allrad, everything else really makes no sense.

You’ll be fine even without Allrad, I guess. You don’t have to go to the deepest botany, you can’t camp anyway. The A and O. Lastly, with trailers on a damp meadow, the A and O is a good tire to arrange against a slight gradient and did not need to switch Allrad.

I know some people who have put themselves on the farm by the police or the Bundeswehr and were on the move in Europe after the reconstruction.
