Am I imagining the smell?

Hey,

I often imagine that I have an unpleasant body odor or that, for example, my jacket smells, and I also notice this smell.

Since I've already asked several trustworthy people whether I'm just imagining it or whether the smell is really there, and they've denied it every time, I suspect it's something psychological.

There's basically nothing I can do about it. I shower every day and constantly feel the urge to wash my clothes so they don't smell anymore, even though they don't.

Somehow I'm aware of this too, otherwise I wouldn't write it like this here, but as soon as I go somewhere I get the feeling that things have changed and I'm unkempt and then I get worked up about it.

Is there a term for this, or how can it be explained? Any idea? It's pretty special, somehow, but I suffer from it because it makes me feel so uncomfortable, and I'm kind of lying to myself about it.

Then don’t get in. So easy. I’m serious. There are people who can’t get into something else. It’s normal for them. And that’s fatal.

Because no one has. You make an elephant from a mosquito. That’s all. The problem remains small or never existed. You asked people and they assured you that you don’t sniff. That should be enough. You know you care. That should be enough.

So stop getting in. Get down! Turn around 180 degrees – inner – and shake the thought that you stink. You don’t!
