Big ping difference?

Hey, my friend in the game keeps saying that I'm winning because I have a better ping. My ping is around 20ms and his is around 30ms. I don't think it makes much of a difference. Does anyone know better?

Depends on the game. In Fortnite, it makes a huge difference, as the player with the better ping will always get the other player's wall.

You always have an advantage over him, but it's not really noticeable in most shooters.

In fast-paced first-person shooters, you actually notice a difference between 20ms and 30ms. An example would be the Lightning Gun in Quake 3; it's quite noticeable there. However, you get used to your ping, as long as you don't have any lag. I regularly get beaten by people with 10ms (near Frankfurt) with 10ms. That's more of a skill issue 😉
