Do you keep your tax returns or throw them away? I received my first tax return (for 2021). Should I throw it away or not?

There is no longer a time limit for the retention of tax rulings and tax documents for individuals. This means that as soon as the tax ruling is final, the documents can in principle be disposed of.

Better not throw away.

Can still serve as proof.

You can throw them away. They’d be stuck somewhere in a folder.

You don’t have to lift this as a private man, but the documents etc. of the last 3-5 years would still be kept in any case if you want to look for something.

Don’t throw away. If you were to save the documents on the desktop in writing, keep these documents for 10 years, even if they were not asked in most cases.

I’ve kept everyone since 1980, even though it’s not necessary. However, it is interesting to occasionally scroll into older documents.

Perhaps one or other of them or Information in it, still need.

If space is there, I’d keep it.

You may need it again, therefore better to cancel it.

Even if you don’t have to. I’ve been in the closet for the last 10 years. Sure is safe.

Such papers belong to a folder, because who knows what else could come, especially as this is a comparison to later payments, which would otherwise no longer be possible?

This expert answer is legally inapplicable.

As soon as the tax ruling is final, the documents can be disposed of in principle.

What if the tax office loses the data by hackers, irreparable system crash or other events? I’m there from the old blow, I’ll keep it. Where the documents fit, the tax decision also fits.
