Career change from cook to…?

Hello everyone,

I have been a cook for over 10 years, but recently I have realized that this job is no longer for me, that it no longer fulfills me and that I am no longer happy in the profession.

That's why I would like to gather some ideas about what other jobs (outside of the catering industry) I could do with my training as a career changer.

Preferably something with people.

Retraining or other training is currently out of the question.

I've already been to the employment agency, but their only advice was that I should stay a cook.

Thank you

Moin,

(I still want to share my knowledge with you, even if it doesn’t fit completely!)

I’ve always been working in industry as an electrician/master…

Before approx. Five years ago, we got an apprentice. He wanted to learn electronics for operating technology. He was almost 40. And he told your story!

He was chef, it was nothing more for him and he is now doing this training. The training money was not so much less (net) than what he had received as a chef. I always had another guess, but he’s still with us and does the job!

Unfortunately, I don’t have a tip for you except to do an education. Otherwise, a cross entrance could become difficult.

  • Teacher as a chef (cook is now not a standard subject …)
  • Education without advanced knowledge?
  • Nursing?
  • Old care?
  • Service in restaurant ^

Greetings
