Benzos versus Ritalin “overdose”?
Hi,
Context:
About 4 hours ago I took 120mg of Ritalin (non-sustained release, instant release) instead of the recommended amount (60mg).
(I wasn't paying attention and took the 20mg tablets instead of the 10mg tablets).
Now I keep having severe shaking attacks, I am extremely restless (physically and mentally) and tired at the same time, I feel extremely cold even though it is actually very warm in my room.
Now the real question:
Should I take Xanax (a benzodiazepine)? Benzos have a muscle-relaxing and calming effect, so this sounds like the perfect medication for my situation.
Or would you recommend something else?
No! In any case, a self-medication must be advised. In addition, it will probably hardly have an effect, as it also depends on where the agent acts.
In case of doubt, contact a doctor. I can briefly check if the dose justifies an emergency call.
Okay: The maximum dose is 80mg. You should contact a doctor accordingly.
If you have symptoms such as significantly increased pulse, a significantly too high blood pressure or other worrying complaints, you should choose the emergency call.
I left it because I was not sure whether in this case a self-medication without sufficient knowledge of how exactly these drugs work together.
After about 3 hours, the trembling has left behind and after I was sleeping for just under 5 hours, the cold feeling as well as the remaining symptoms of a high dosage had disappeared.
FAZIT:
-No self-medication without sufficient knowledge
-Viel Drink & Food + rest/sleeping
– Best of course just go to the Artzt
My recommendation: from the doctor!
Of course! HEY! NOW
