Benz S Class W220 as an investment – when will the value increase?

I have a Benz W220 S500 that's being overhauled and repainted, and the rust is being removed. It's in pretty good condition.

When do you think the value of the W220 will increase? I originally wanted to buy the predecessor W140, but I think it's slowly getting more expensive.

It was produced in large quantities until 15 years ago. Before the value rises, many must first pass on the scrap and at least 15 years.

Not really. The W220 was sold quite often. Only with the AMG models or perhaps the V12 you can hope for something. The increase in value will be below the maintenance costs if you drive it.

In terms of inflation, the boxes will cost a lot more in 10-20 years, but will not be worth much more in terms of purchasing power. Unless you have any special model. The whole 6 and 8 cylinders are like sand at the More, because the value will hardly increase to any. In addition, it is a not so popular model of the S class. The W140 was rare and technically very refined for the time. The w220 has many technical macks, was often built and comes from a very unpopular time at Mercedes for many Mercedes fans, while the W221 is a much more round car.

In my eyes, the 220 has the worst conditions to gain great value from all S classes, at least in the bread and butter models. S600, S55 AMG or one of the rarer 4 Matic models have chances .

Maybe you should put the pink glasses off and not live in a dream world just because you bought such a wreck. A S500 W220 is neither something special nor something in demand. Looks like you’re currently at the prices. You’ll be throwing it. This is an all-world car and one of the most built models in the class. A V8 is nothing special. In performance, even meanwhile, something is scaring.

Especially for a mass manufacturer like Mercedes, the values of vehicles only increase when they are special models. And there’s the W220 already in a bad position. Often built. The 500 is the most sold engine after the 320. In the current world situation, the box will be even less in demand. But keep thinking about the fairy tale. It might be possible to calculate the maintenance costs. Whether V8 or not is completely latte, for the value it depends on the rareness of the vehicle and there is an S500 W220 a handle in the toilet. Mercedes has some vehicles that have a potential to increase value. A W220 S500 is exactly the opposite. You can be happy if you buy one in 10 years.

Not really. The 220 was quite unpopular and too susceptible to defect. This will not really be worth the next 20 years. And then only in a state that is at least 2 and has barely km

But the 220 was even very unpopular compared to the previous one. Too big, too heavy, too often broken, very early a lot of rust. Not the Knaller. And the 8 ender was not the most popular engine now

But popular. But if we’re vulnerable, why didn’t you buy S600? It’s just your thing.

Benz S class W220 as value system – when will the value increase?

Probably not. For this, one must first know what exactly the term “value” actually means: this indicates how much the market is ready to spend. Especially at Mercedes – Benz, the quality level was very high up to the 90s until W210 and W220 came and with their very poor quality undermined everything – fusion with Chrysler. Later, we worked with Renault, which pushed the quality further. Unknowing and indoctrinable persons looking for only one star on the hood pay as little as possible, so cannot increase the value. Kenner and Gutbewelte pay much more, but then also want quality, and will therefore look more towards W123, W124, W126 and W140. Maybe you ask in a psychic forum, maybe you can use your “question” (I write the term in quotation marks, because it, according to experience, does not serve the actually intended purpose of expanding knowledge).

And how do you get that statement?

By looking at the overall picture. You ask something, but don’t accept the answer(s) by always writing “Benz beschte” like a picking mill. You are advised of a W168, what are you doing? Buy a W168, which, as expected (and from the responders here also prophesied!) makes trouble. And obviously you do not learn from your mistakes how to see the example of the W220. Quasi reder advised you to buy one, and what are you doing?

Do you have a doppelganger? I (and many others here) could have sworn that you are the one who devours Mercedes despite all the bad experiences.

Your Benz has too many kilometers down and is far from a good condition.

If he were in a flawless state, which is hardly possible with the rust susceptibility of this model, and if he had barely kilometers on the clock, he could remain worthless. However, due to the high sales figures, it is definitely not a value facility.

AMGs as well as the V12 safe, as a S500 as your definitely not no, is nix special.

Especially since the W220 is quite unpopular as a used person, especially with as much running performance and in a state as yours

S-Class asset:

108/109, 116 even if really good condition, at 140 the coupe will be a value system.

From 220 I don’t see a future. Maybe later the EQS,

In order to increase the value of a W220, it must:

Very rarely produced and be in absolute original condition, have a very good VERTGUTACHTEN with 1-2 condition, possess a 1A comprehensible GUTE histrorie. And a cold deformation of the body may have occurred by proof of NIEMALS.

All workshop bills shall be available > incomplete < <. A total NO GO!

If this is NOT the case, there is good luck from the scrap trader AND ONLY if he has a good day 200€ per ton.

Otherwise, if the car still creates a valuer from its own power, it may accept it free of charge.

I doubt the value will rise.

You should have picked up an old Porsche or comparable one.

The boxes are about 20 years old. What are you expecting?

This is a 05/15 S class and nothing special at all.
