used SIM card in flip/keyboard phone?

Heyy, 🙂

I'm thinking about buying a (new) old flip or keypad phone and would like to use my SIM card from a much newer device so I don't have to sign a new contract and can keep my number. If I then insert the SIM card, how will it work with the pictures and videos on the SIM card? I don't need them on the (new) old phone, but I'm worried that the data will get lost because the transfer won't work properly, or something similar, since I have a lot of pictures and videos stored on it. Are there other things I need to consider when buying a flip/keypad phone, or do only certain SIM cards work, etc.?

Oh, and by the way: if anyone knows of any good, cheap (up to 50€) and old mobile phones with MP3 and phone function, please feel free to recommend them :)) (I actually prefer flip phones though)

To all, I must tell you that pictures and videos not on the Sim map. On the Sim card, if at all, only contact data, no more. The images and videos are either on an SD card or on the internal memory of the old device. You have to transfer it. And to the SIM itself, there is no difference as old or new the contract is. It may be that your new SIM is too small. There are three sizes of SIM cards, Mini, Micro and Nano Sim. In new handies are most Nano Sim cards, but older handies usually have a version for Mini or Micro Sims. But there is an adapter in every technology market.

When I pack the Simcard, how does it work with the pictures and videos on the Simcard.?

I don’t think you saved pictures and videos on the Simmap. Simcards have only about 8 KiB to 256 KiB memory to store some contact data and SMS messages. There is not enough space for pictures and videos!

The data such as images and videos are stored either on an internal memory of the mobile phone. (Then you would have to transfer the USB to the new device via a corresponding interface, depending on the phone, or via radio connection.) Or you saved the data on an SD card, which you can then, if necessary, get out of the old device and plug it into the new device.

Is there otherwise things that you have to consider even when buying a folding/tasting handy or only work certain sim cards etc….?

Simcards are available in different sizes (Full-Size, Mini, Micro, Nano). You should see if the old sim card fits into the new device.

In part, you can break out or cut out the appropriate size or adjust it to the appropriate size with a holding frame. You may need to get a new Simcard from your mobile provider. (This usually goes with the maintenance of the old contract and the old telephone number. If necessary, however, a small fee for the provision of the new Simcard will be due.)

Maximum contacts and a few SMS are stored on the SIM card, otherwise nothing.

The remaining stuff is stored on your device, regardless of the SIM.

There are no pictures on the Sinkarte. Only phone numbers with names.
