Will I get a refund of withholding tax if I have not paid any capital gains tax?

Sitting on my tax return at Anlage Kap

It's not much, but about €7 was withheld in foreign withholding tax. However, since everything is within the exemption limit, I didn't pay any capital gains tax.

But creditable foreign taxes are credited against the capital gains tax. And if my tax is zero, I get the creditable foreign tax back, right?

The predictable part always remains at the exclusive FA. But if there’s nix, what you can count on is bad luck. That’s why it’s worth it. Shares only if one exceeds the amount of the allowance or the payout is permanently correspondingly high.

The foreign source tax is calculated on the German capital income tax. Those who do not pay any capital income tax in this country, for example because all incomes fall under the amount of the allowance, do not receive the taxes paid abroad.
