What should I do if the wire on my fixed braces has slipped off?

Normally it is held in place by a rubber band. Today I was eating normally and then it happened. A wire stretched it and slipped out past the rubber band (at the end of the side). The orthodontist put the wires in for me and because they had been shortened and therefore couldn't be bent, they reinforced it. It came out while I was eating anyway. The next opportunity to see an orthodontist is not for another two days. Because there are rubber bands there, I can't just thread it back in. Can someone please give me a professional answer as to what I should do now?

Hello Gustav,

Unfortunately, I can’t quite understand what really happened from your description. Maybe a picture would help.

But actually it doesn’t matter. I assume you can’t do anything. Remove Alastics itself, insert the bow and pull it up again, it doesn’t work right without the right tool. In addition, not all orthodontic orthodontics have a pleasure when patients are walking around the braces;-)

Go to the orthodontic orthopaedic on Monday, he’ll judge it.

Good luck!

You have to go to the orthodontics.
