Torn ligament?

Hey hey,

I had a skating accident and twisted my ankle. I went to the hospital the next day because my ankle was a bit swollen. They x-rayed my foot and said nothing was broken and I should wear a splint for two weeks. The swelling now looks like this (picture), and I'm a little worried because they didn't discuss anything further about whether it was a torn ligament or something similar.

So the question is, does this seem like something you should discuss with a doctor again or should you just wear a splint for 2 weeks and wait?

Foot doesn't look so great, I know, but maybe someone knows more🫶

Depends on how much you’re surrounded, but I guess that’s very strong who they’ve crowned your foot before they checked whether bands are torn. It is also normal to become blue/black under circumstances. Just wait and carry the rail.

But I guess you’ve been kinking around a lot of times when you skate and know how long it takes. Can you move your foot normal?

Wear the rail for the two weeks. The doctor has already checked the tapes during the examination. That we made by means of “movement attempt”.

What is more to be discussed? Wear and wait.

A gypsum is rarely necessary in the ligament crack. A rail/orthesis is better suited for mobility and simultaneous support of the joint.
