Build your own balloon/zeppelin?

Hello,

I'm currently imagining building a flying Zepellin model myself.

The internet spits out balloons with metal foil and plastic.

I realize that some plastics can be bonded with heat, but I'm wondering if it's possible to weld foil balloons, or if there's a better option than gluing. The idea is to make them as airtight as possible.

How is this done with foil party balloons?

Coating the interior also crossed my mind. What material would be suitable for this and what coating methods would be appropriate would be another question.

Does anyone have any experience, tips or information?

Best regards and thanks for the answers

I guess you can use very light foil and glue it. Films that can be welded are more difficult. I would research a little bit on websites that deal with airship modelling at your place. This is a rare hobby.

But I know so much that you have to pay great attention to the weight, because helium is not so good to wear. You shouldn’t build too big because Helium has become extremely expensive in recent years.

By the way, remote-controlled airships are constructed to be minimally heavier than air so that they do not simply float away when remote control fails. The last Bisschen lift we get a plane, dynamic.

It is actually only in large halls because it is too windy outside on 364.9 days a year.

I’m writing, because I had the idea 15 years ago. However, because of the enormous costs, I have already taken a distance from the idea.

There are plastics or films that you can almost weld to me

Is just a question of size and budget: The surface (and thus the weight) grows with r2, but the volume with r3.
