Bahncard 25 expired and I have a ticket..

Hello, I bought a ticket for XY euros two weeks ago and today I saw that my Bahncard has expired…

What can I do now?

Would my ticket still be valid?

Did I give up the XY euros for nothing or will I get it back?

Thank you!

Normally, a new one would have to be sent to you in time before the ticket expires. Call the railway card service (phone number is on the map).

Or did you cancel the subscription? Then you have to buy a new railway card.

You need to repay the difference between price with or without a train card before you start your journey. Otherwise, a bad-yellow sheepsman will expose you as a fraud attempt.

In trains with ticket sales you can also repay on the train, but then on the basis of the slightly higher board price. In trains without ticket sales (i.e. usually in local traffic), you should have done this before the start of the trip.

Then you either have to buy a new Bahncard 25, repay the price difference of the ticket or exchange the ticket.

Currently there is again the “Probe BahnCard 25” – four months valid for 25 euros (but you have to cancel until six weeks before the end if you don’t want a subscription).
