Bad internet, especially in the evenings?

I've already switched to a LAN cable (Fritzbox 7490), and we should be getting 50 Mbps, but speed tests show only 10 Mbps… and on top of that, especially in the evenings, the ping spikes to 200-1000 ms every 10 seconds or so. Gaming is impossible… is the problem with my PC, the router, or the provider? :/ Should I call O2?

Look in IN THE FB, there is the actual connection that really matters.
A speed test says a lot, but the real upcoming speed shows the FB.

If there’s 50mbits in there, they’ll come on.
Then you’d have to see why you’re getting much less.

Background processes, background downloads etc. and so on.

Powerline/DLAN are NOT one to one direct connection, and you can not use it as a LAN cable.

Fb is the abbreviation of Fritzbox, but you should have noticed.

If the lan cable from the pc leads directly into the router without devices in between, it is located at the pc or at the provider.
if there is a repeater or powerline adapter in between, the problem can also come.
