B197 FS dangerous?

I'm not stupid enough to buy a manual car because they make me panic and I can't drive them. But I just had my B197 test drive, and my driver's license allowed me to pass, even though I stalled several times, sometimes didn't know which gear to engage, and steered really jerkily because I couldn't concentrate on shifting gears and steering at the same time. I'm now doing the rest of my driver's license in an automatic. I'm asking myself: Isn't that extremely dangerous? Because other people, and I too, can theoretically drive both eventually.
