Azithromycin + Codeine?

Elevated temperature on Friday and Saturday, up to almost 39 degrees on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. A raging headache. Barely slept the last three nights, kept waking up with a tickly cough. It's a sensitive topic.

That was exactly what I couldn't tell my doctor on the phone.

I've been taking Ambroxol since Sunday, but my cough is now dry and terribly painful.

The doctor has now prescribed antibiotics, codeine and Novopulmon. I've had asthma for ages and always take the spray.

Even though I have a long list of intolerances, he said I could take them all together.

The pharmacy is delivering tonight, and I'm not comfortable with it. I'm worried I'll get shortness of breath. Should I just take codeine and decide on antibiotics tomorrow morning? My sputum is only occasionally thicker and then a darker yellow, otherwise it's mostly light. After three days and 300 nose blows, there's not much left, just the urge to cough. Or should I start antibiotics and hope for quick relief?

Asthma spray often gives me thrush.

The last infection resulted in pneumonia. That's probably why he prescribed six days.

Thanks for your assessment!

Azithromycin, Codein:
Pharmacologically no interactions, e.g. DrugBank – Drug Interaction Checker.

Codein at Asthma:

  • Contrainded in the acute asthma attack – i.e. during or shortly after an asthma attack, codein must not be taken.
  • Generally strict use-risk balance in the presence of asthma disease according to drug specialist information.
  • Chronic cough may be an early symptom of an asthma bronchiale, so codein drop CT for damping this cough, especially in children, are not indicated.” (Fachinfo Fa. ABZ)

Strong stimulus dampers are usually cautious to use in asthma, which also applies to prescription-free active ingredients. With cough dampers it becomes difficult to find alternatives, but I think you can rely on the doctor if your asthma history is known to him. Here you can only give general hints, direct recommendations rather not.

Asthmaspray gives me soor.

Do you also have an acute spray (Salbutamol, Salbuhexal, or the like) if it comes to breathing? Novopulmon does not work in the acute asthma attack.

I would not just drink a glass of milk before taking, as too much calcium ions can reduce the absorption of aziithromycin. But butter, some cheese or something is not a problem.

I’ve already been ordered by Novopulmon, if the doctor told me that it might be a little inflammatory when he was listening to the bronchi. In this respect, I do not know whether Novopulmon would also help you to ensure that what is happening in the bronchi is a little calm overall. After inhalation, drink and eat something should help.

You can take Ambroxol.

I have Akut-Spray. Seriously, how to install it without attack?

I’m not sure how you mean that. But an acute spray should only be taken in acute breathing, I think.
