Apart from a few small-car-bridges like the Mitsubishi Space Star, there are serious cars from Mazda with intake gasolines without turbo.

Technically interesting is their Skyactiv-X gasoline engine, which combines the common gasoline fire ignition by spark plug with a diesel-like self-ignition with very lean burn in the low partial load range.

In practice, however, no such relevant fuel saving is achieved, which is proportional to the enormous technical effort. An average consumption of 6.4 liters is also achieved by other economical gasolines such as the 1.5 TSi of VW.

Mazda Skyactiv X: What can diesel petrol? | ADAC

“In theFuel consumption measurements in the ADAC Ecotestit came to the vow. Would the “Diesotto” meet the high expectations and create the specified 5.5 litres per 100 kilometers? Could he even undercut her? The answer was frightened, because he couldn’t.6.4 liters Super per 100 kilometersare not a bad value (test before the engine revision), some competitors with similar performance create values at the same level or even better.”

Subaru also offers gasoline without turbo, but apart from hybridization without any technical solutions that reduce consumption. On the contrary, the consumption of which is untimely severe. With the rising fuel prices an expensive fun. Here, among others, the standard permanent all-wheel drive demands its tribute.

It should be noted that the Mazda offers significantly more performance. In addition, unlike the 1.5TSI, it does not have a turbohole. I would prefer the engine at any time, already alone, because I trust Japanese aggregates more than German ones, and because the TSI now has a toothed belt.

However, the Skyactive-X had no way to prove that its extremely complex technology is permanent. More power nice and good, but with the torque at low speeds it is not so far

Cars without turbocharger 2021/22?

At Mazda in Germany all petrol engines. Subaru also has relatively many. Otherwise small cars and exotics. What class (size, performance) are you looking for?
