Car costs monthly/annually?

Hello everyone. This is the first time I've owned a car, and I've already tried to do a monthly cost breakdown. According to my calculations, it comes to €401. Now, after the first few months, however, I feel like I completely miscalculated due to ignorance. First, the fuel costs, which I initially estimated at €200 per month, based on the worst-case scenario. And then there are things like the insurance fee, which is deducted annually—about €1,000—that I've been spending monthly, but maybe that doesn't even count as monthly costs? In other words, what exactly are included in the monthly costs, and how much fuel do I realistically need? What about MOTs and such?

To my vehicle;

Passat Variant 2016, Diesel

Partially comprehensive insurance, max. 1 tank filling per month, rather less

Best regards

Hey!

So I would count among the monthly costs:

  • Tax / 12
  • Insurance contribution / 12 or / 4 depending on the number
  • Packages for tanks
  • Package reserves for repairs & service

“Shift” is more important for companies. Personally, I think that’s a bit exaggerated. :

Hello,

I would count everything among the monthly costs and one-off annual expenditures such as cash insurance or KFZ control or Tire replacement fee including storage by 12.

As for repairs, the question is whether you have a kind of warranty or maintenance package. Once a year (or all XXXXX – about 25000 km) would be the inspection. Depending on the way of travel, brake pad and writing change, etc.

If a maintenance and inspection package is included in the purchase price, you can forget these boxes. However, brakes are not covered here.

I would say monthly costs:

Costs for Sprit

Costs for car wash (e.g. 1 x monthly, depending on the washing frequency)

Consistent for any maintenance, financing or leasing rates (as you own the car, it should not be leasing).

Security + 100-200€ monthly. take into account unplanned repairs (steel part-casco-constituent participation, brake lining change, etc.)

KFZ insurance (divided by 12).

TÜV costs (divided by 24 … every two years)

KFZ control (divided by 12).

Total inspection costs (divided by 12).

Tyre replacement costs (divided by 12).

Oil change costs (divided by 12).

You bought an old diesel that is very expensive in the car tax. In the past, this had been expected at many kilometres driven, as the price for diesel was considerably cheaper. Nowadays the difference is only 1-2 cents.

A diesel is considered to be a multi-fibre car in insurance, whether you are driving a lot. This will be noticeable in a high level of liability (type class).

You didn’t tell the type classes for your car (lift duty + partial cash).

Congratulations on your first car! That one gets into sweating because of the cost is completely normal and I’m happy to help you because I’ve been having cars for 28 years.

As a monthly cost, you count on everything: tax (divided by 12), insurance (which you can also share by 12 or pay monthly), tank and reserves for maintenance, HU/AU, repairs.

It is recommended to save a monthly amount of 100 to 200€, especially for cars that are slightly older, if repairs, new tyres, etc. are due. Here it is often the case that there are problems when 1000€ and more are due because a component gives up the mind.

How high have you calculated, or where do you see the mistake?

If you pay the insurance monthly, it will be about 5% more expensive, but that is not really noticeable. If it is possible for you to pay half a year, I will do it and then always put something on your side before the payment date comes.

It’s simple, you call your insurance, you tell them and they’ll change it for you to the next date and share the amount of the debits.

Did you get the tax?
Did you lose weight, say ripe, etc?
Services like oil change and co?

That should be all in a calculation if you really want to know what the monthly costs.

Unfortunately, I can’t help you too much because I don’t have any idea about VW Services and prices. You can see what services are going on and, if necessary, ask for what the cost of VW (or a free workshop) is.

Your diesel already costs a lot of taxes.

My car costs me about 60 Euros per month (insurance and petrol) plus 35 Euro taxes per year – and garage, Tüv costs, inspection, wear parts not included.

Monthly costs:

  • Insurance contributions down to the month
  • Sprite costs (monthly driving performance/100 x consumption per 100Km) x price per litre)
  • Tax payable on:
  • Service costs
  • Reserves for wear and repair

Sprit, insurance, tax, workshop costs (inspection, TÜV, tyres etc.).

Of course, you also have to distribute insurance and taxes to the monthly costs. In addition, a sum for maintenance and repairs. What about winter tyres?

And a tank filling would not be 200 €

You could leave the insurance monthly. This is then 8-10% more expensive

In winter tyres, you need to watch if they wear the right symbol. You can’t use older people this winter.

It includes all costs.

Service, repair, maintenance, tax, insurance, wear parts… just everything you spend some time on the car.
