Car financing with ALG 1 and a signed employment contract?

Hello,

I have just finished my studies/training and already have a job in the public sector, which I will start in a few weeks.

I'd like to use the time before I start work to buy a one-year-old car. I've saved a good amount of money and will soon be earning a good living.

However, my savings aren't enough to pay for my dream car completely right now. I'd only have to work for two months to have the remaining amount—and all the additional costs.

Now I also need the car for my job and since starting my career is sure to be stressful, I would like to buy the car now.

However, I'm currently receiving unemployment benefits (ALG 1) until I start working. My question is, can I use this to finance a car, or am I making a fool of myself by asking? I could easily pay 75% immediately and pay off the remaining amount within 2-3 months.

But as an unemployed person, I'm probably not creditworthy 🙁 Does anyone have experience with car financing while receiving unemployment benefit 1 (ALG 1) and have a signed employment contract and can tell me what the chances are or give me some advice?

Hi, hard. Just as you say, currently you don’t have an income and a signed employment contract is barely burdensome for the bank… how much money are we talking about? According to your information, I would type 3 – 5 TEuro. This isn’t so much now that you can’t even ask, but there are a lot of chances currently not. But if it can be paid back so quickly: can’t you borrow it privately?

Otherwise, I would still save the three months and negotiate the cash discount….

Wait till you get the job. That’s less stress.
