Rent a car in Morocco?

Good day

I'll be in Morocco in 3 weeks.

I would like to rent a car, preferably a Dacia Duster.

How negotiable are the conditions in Morocco?

Do you get ripped off often etc.

Maybe someone has a tip.

I prefer to rent a car locally, I just need to know how to do it.

Or is it generally smarter to search via a booking platform?

Thanks for your help:)

It is generally considered more absurd to book the car in advance. When you drive through tour operators, you can ask the representatives on site.

I rented a car abroad twice. There were no problems. This is already a bit (the times have changed) and it was not an oriental country where the mentality and (business) culture is different.

How can the conditions be negotiated in Morocco?

No, it’s not like that.

It is often deducted etc.

You have to be careful. Important: Record all (!) damages already there. And look what a tank situation is. If it means the tank is full and must be returned fully, absolutely check. If it’s called “Tank Clock is broken” or “That’s what it takes until it shows correctly,” smile on the guy and tell him to fill up the tank…

And stop at speed. There are many controls and high fines.

Let you show where the papers are (security etc.), especially in the south you are often controlled.

Booking from D is usually useful here as you can be sure that the insurances you pay are also included.

Book from Germany is cheap.
