Car broken within 2 months of private purchase?

Good morning,

I bought an A3 1.9Tdi about 2 months ago with alleged 130,000km and 10,000km on the engine (without invoice)

Recently while I was driving I noticed that something was wrong with the starter and the clutch.

After I wanted to drive off after a traffic light, the car wouldn't go into gear and turned off, and when I tried to start it the starter motor spun out.

Is there anything that can be done?

The seller mentioned that the engine had been completely rebuilt, but that definitely can't be the case if the clutch is already at the end of its life.

Oh yeah, the connectors for the glow plugs are completely open and poorly connected with cable lugs etc.

A colleague said it would be manslaughter because it could start burning as soon as water gets on it.

N colleague said this would be negligent killing because it can start burning as soon as water comes on.

Your buddy exaggerates.

A new engine does not necessarily mean that all auxiliary units have been changed. The clutch does not actually belong to it. This also does not mean that a brand new engine has been installed, it can also be an overhauled replacement engine or partial engine.

Since the motor exchange after your info went without billing, I would have left the fingers of the car right away. I’m sure this was done in some backyard workshop.

You can just try to do something about a lawyer. But that’s gonna cost, I’m sure an expert will have to take evidence.

I would no longer be able to operate the car so that there is no more damage.

Honestly, let it rest and learn from your mistakes.

What you are leading are any lukewarm, undefined statements, so you can prove nix or complain. So formulations like replacement engine and Motor overhauled and similar are undefined by the extent and quality and ever since the source of any dissatisfaction and anger. Only that this was supposed to have run without invoice and supposed to have been carried out with the previous owner (so that the seller wants to escape any responsibility…) would have had to have all the alarm bells shrilled. You don’t buy such a car… 🙄

Save yourself a further legal dispute. This is going to be very expensive again and I see your chances more than bad.

If you have no idea, leave the fingers of private car sales or take someone who knows or bring the car to a check in a workshop!

In order to buy your car, IMMER takes a specialist to avoid being pulled over the table.

The salesman mentioned that the motor was completely remade, but this can definitely not be if the clutch is already at the end.

Did you think the mill bought a wish-event wrench?

I thought the salesman would say that. You’ve been properly presented. As I have already written, you should consult a lawyer, and now, perhaps, consider an indication of the suspicion of fraud.
