Car in the garage for a week?
I was in quarantine for 10 days, and when I tried to start my car, it wouldn't start at all. The battery was new, but the person at the repair shop said the alternator wasn't working and the fuses were swapped. I don't really know much about that.
I wanted to ask if it would be okay to call them and ask how far along they are, or should I just leave it. I don't want to come across as mean, I'm just worried.
when you ask politely about the state of things
who will have problems with the spare parts
The fact that the battery is discharged is comprehensible, but that the light machine is thus adopted does not make any sense. Backups do not interchange, it is only conceivable that the wrong fuses have been inserted. Either they’re incomprehensible, or they’re trying to get you money from the wallet.
There are no more light machines. The technology is past.
What would be possible is a defective rectifier diode in the generator. If one starts to run through, the battery is discharged.
What is the difference between a generator and the bypass-language lighting machine. We could also call it a dynamo.
The generator of car has 3 phases which are rectified. Where’s that wrong?
That’s wrong. An electric generator is an electric machine that converts motion energy into electrical energy. It can generate alternating current or also three-phase current in the power plant.
The old generators, which produce direct current, are referred to as the light machine. In old tractors this is very common.
Generators produce a voltage-controlled three-phase field which is subsequently rectified. These are two main differences.
Of course you can call there and inform yourself politely. After all, your car is there. Maybe they wanted to contact you and they didn’t have your number. Or they’re gonna need an executing.
I don’t think anyone here knows how long your car is in the workshop.
Just call it, it’s your car, so you can already ask…
So on exchanged fuses this is not guaranteed.
